Our Piano Bank
The Piano Bank was an idea started by my grandfather, Zeb Billings, and brought to life by my father, Greg.
A simple concept; get pianos in the homes of children who would otherwise not be able to take lessons.

The Piano Bank is made possible by the generosity of our piano donors; clients of Steinway Piano Gallery of Madison who choose to donate instead of trade-in their piano. In addition, local piano technicians donate their time to make minor repairs and provide tunings. Other partners include the Wisconsin Foundation for School Music, which provides needs assessments and the UW Piano Pioneers outreach program, which provides low-cost piano lessons for financially eligible students.
Finally, the generosity of our Steinway Piano Society members pays for the transportation costs to bring the pianos to the homes of these aspiring musicians.
